Bishop’s hurtful Hawking jibes
Calling Stephen Hawking names is very hurtful, especially coming from a bishop [Seraphim of Piraeus]. It seems that Orthodox clerics are no different than the Papacy in this regard: They never look at themselves and their shortcomings but are quick to critique and criticize others, especially those who disagree with them. As an Orthodox Christian in the US, I find the bishop’s comments most troubling. I always knew the differences between Catholicism and Orthodoxy but now the bishop reminds me of their similarities. I wonder what else this bishop thinks and, worse, what he covers up and hides among his own flock. I believe this bishop would be the last person God would want to listen to. MIKE Milwaukee, USA
