MAKARIOS AND IERONYMOS: Archbishop Makarios, Ethnarch of Cyprus, arrived in Athens yesterday at 5 p.m. He was met at Athens Airport by the archbishop of Athens, Bishop Evripos, Foreign Ministry representative Mr A. Stefanou, Archimandrite Ieronymos Kotsonis, who is general secretary of the Panhellenic Committee for Union with Cyprus, and others. The Cypriot leader will remain in Athens for two or three days for meetings with the government and the leaders of the political parties. He will then leave, via Paris, for New York, to attend the sessions of the United Nations General Assembly. MINOTIS-PAXINOU: The National Theater has announced that its performances of «Electra,» starring Mrs Katina Paxinou, will be extended until Saturday (October 25) and that the premiere of «Oedipus,» which was to take place the day after tomorrow, will now be held on Monday (October 27) with Mr Alexis Minotis in the leading role, and continue for one week. Afterward, the state theater’s ancient tragedy ensemble is due to begin rehearsals for its tour of the US on November 13. PANATHINAIKOS-PANIONIOS 2-0: The most important sporting event of last Sunday was the football match between Panathinaikos and Panionios. Panathinaikos won 2-0. Both goals were scored by Petropoulos.
