Volos mayor faces investigation over alleged incitement to violence
The Volos Prosecutor’s Office in Central Greece has launched a preliminary investigation into controversial remarks made by Volos Mayor Achilleas Beos earlier this week.
Known for his outspoken demeanor and hardline methods, Beos allegedly urged business owners during a Monday interview to “get together” and, if outdoor seating fees imposed by the Volos Port Authority (VPA) were not canceled, to “beat up” VPA employees.
The prosecutor’s office will investigate whether the mayor’s statements constitute incitement to violence.
