Greek Embassy in Kyiv closed for security reasons amid heightened air attack threat

The Greek Embassy in Kyiv will remain closed to the public on Wednesday for security reasons.

In a statement, the embassy urges the public to avoid unnecessary movement and stay in safe locations.

This announcement comes as the United States also closed its embassy in the Ukrainian capital on Wednesday, citing “specific information of a potential significant air attack.” The US also advised its citizens in Ukraine to be prepared to seek shelter quickly.

The warning follows a day after Ukraine used US ATACMS missiles to strike Russian territory, taking advantage of newly granted permission from the outgoing administration of President Joe Biden on the 1,000th day of the war.
