Eleni Daniilidou has risen to No. 16 in the WTA rankings published yesterday after reaching the semifinal of the Gaz de France Open in Paris last week. The 20-year-old was eliminated, 6-2, 6-0 by the eventual tournament winner and No. 1, Serena Williams. Daniilidou has also been ranked 12th among women professionals in earnings so far this year, with $109,084, bringing her total career earnings to $492,170.
