Aristotelis Gavelas was an exception
Although Greek track and field athletes generally disappointed at the European Indoor Cup held over the weekend at Leipzig, Germany, Aristotelis Gavelas (l) was an exception. He came second in the 60 meters, which he ran in 6.61 seconds, six hundredths of a second behind reigning European indoor champion Jason Gardener. Another second place was gained in the women’s triple jump, where Olga Vasdeki, back after several seasons cut short by injury, jumped 14.07 meters.
