Aris goes down away to Le Mans

Aris suffered its first defeat in the second group stage of the Eurocup, basketball?s second-tier continental competition, losing 85-70 at Le Mans on January 25.

The Thessaloniki club stuck close to its host in France points-wise throughout the first half, which ended 43-42, but Le Mans notched up a partial score of 24-12 in the third period and took the game beyond the Greeks? control.

Christos Tapoutos led the scoring for coach Sharon Drucker?s players with 14 points, while Anthony Tucker managed another 13.

Aris now has one win in two games. Panellinios is visiting Alba Berlin for the same competition on January 27.

Olympiakos is traveling to Lithuania on January 26 for a crucial Euroleague match against Zalgiris Kaunas, which is coached by Greek Ilias Zouros. The Reds need a victory to offset the home loss to Fenerbahce last week.

Panathinaikos then hosts Unicaja Malaga on January 27 in Athens, aiming at its second win in as many games in the competition?s second group stage.
