Yet another soccer manager?s head rolls

Panserraikos announced on January 25 the sacking of its coach, Dragan Kokotovic, leaving Ergotelis, Olympiakos Volou and Atromitos the only soccer Super League teams not to have changed manager this season.

The Serres club is 15th place on the 16-team table, and is destined for relegation unless it improves considerably in the 11 remaining fixtures for the league.

Kokotovic had received Panserraikos president Petros Theodoridis?s backing during a meeting on Monday evening, despite the team?s home loss to Atromitos (1-0) a day earlier. However the strong reaction by board members as well as fans who wanted the Serb to go – even spray-painting threats against him on the walls of the club headquarters – changed Theodoridis?s stance.

Alekos Alexandris, who on the same day resigned from the Olympiakos youth team, is the favorite to replace Kokotovic.
