Aliadiere comes to Greece for Larissa

Super League struggler Larissa is close to signing former Middlesbrough and Arsenal player Jeremie Aliadiere.

The French striker, who has been released by Boro, will arrive in Greece on January 27 to undergo a medical test and sign his contract with the Crimsons, according to reports.

Larissa is desperate to strengthen its roster as much as possible as it is staring at relegation in its current position at the bottom of the league table with 11 games to go.

Another candidate for Larissa is Austrian forward Sanel Kuljic, while on January 26 the Crimsons confirmed the purchase of Dimitris Pliagas, a Larissa-born midfielder who was released by Olympiakos Volou. He signed a one-and-a-half-year contract with Larissa.

The club recently released another former Middlesbrough player, ex-Cameroon international Geremi Njitap.

The midfielder who became a household name during his career at Real Madrid, Chelsea and Newcastle, failed to shine in his mere 10 appearances with the Thessaly club in the Super League.
