Kenteris-Thanou trial put back again

The trial of sprinters Costas Kenteris and Katerina Thanou was once again postponed on January 12, but only for nine days.

The absence of three witnesses forced the court to set January 21 as the new date for the trial.

This is the seventh time the trial has been postponed for the suspicious motorcycle accident that occurred on August 12, 2004.

The incident, which has been disputed owing to contradictions in testimonies, was used as justification for the two Greek champions missing a doping test on the eve of the opening ceremony of the Athens Olympics.

The two sprinters? former coach, Christos Tzekos, was present for the trial, but made no statements.
