PAO basketball club sale process tips off

The Giannakopoulos family are negotiating the sale of their stake in Panathinaikos basketball club, with the owner’s son Dimitris traveling to New York on June 11-12 to discuss their options with a sports advisory firm, Galatioto Sports Partners, according to reports.

Brothers Pavlos and Thanasis Giannakopoulos worried Panathinaikos fans when they stated after winning the Euroleague and the Greek league this season that they are tired after three decades at the club and intend to give up their holding.

Now Dimitris Giannakopoulos, son of Pavlos, reportedly spoke to GSP, a major company that specializes in such deals, run by Salvatore Galatioto.

There is a possibility that Galatioto will soon visit Athens for negotiations, reports suggest.

Pavlos Giannakopoulos confirmed the news of his son’s trip to New York to this end.
