Blackburn makes bid for George John
Premier League club Blackburn Rovers has tabled a 1.4-million-euro offer for FC Dallas?s Greek-American defender George John.
Dallas is likely to accept the bid, according to John’s agent, leaving only the player to agree to personal terms, for what would be his first stint outside the US.
Born and raised in Seattle, John is a second-generation Greek American who earned a call from Greece manager Fernando Santos to train with the national team last June in the US, before Greece’s friendly with Ecuador.
The 24-year-old was identified as Major League Soccer’s third-highest-rated player this year, behind only Landon Donovan and Thierry Henry.
