Hungary striker Gergely signs PAO contract
Hungarian international forward Rudolf Gergely signed a one-year loan contract with Panathinaikos, becoming the fifth signing for the Greens this summer on the very last day of the transfer window.
The 26-year-old striker put pen on paper in Hungary, where he was on August 31 due to commitments with his national team.
The Greens reportedly agreed with Genoa to borrow the 5-foot-10 striker for the new season, though his salary has not been made known for the time being.
Gergely, who has 21 caps and seven goals with Hungary, is expected in Greece next week.
He has also played for Nancy, Debreceni and Bari.
On August 30, Sebastian Leto and Jean-Alain Boumsong refuted reports that they were about to leave Panathinaikos, committing themselves to the club for the season.
