Greece beats Mexico in Under-20 World Cup

Greece scored late to beat Mexico 2-1 in its opening game at the Under 20-World Cup on Saturday.

Greece, playing its first ever game in the finals, entered the 24-team tournament scoring first in Gaziantep through Andreas Bouchalakis in the 16th minute.

Mexico’s Jorge Espericueta drew the CONCACAF champion level in the 40th of the Group D match with a wonderful free kick from 25 yards.

Dimitrios Kolovos then made a turn in the area and scored a late winner in the 88th.

In the other Group D match, Paraguay and Mali settled for a 1-1 draw. Mali’s Adama Niane gave his side the lead after three minutes before the favorite Paraguay drew level in the 7th courtesy of Jorge Rojas.
