Galatasaray dumps PAOK out of Euroleague

PAOK missed out on this year’s Euroleague as it lost to Galatasaray in a knockout qualifier on September 30.

The Thessaloniki side lost 77-64 to the Turkish club in a game where the Greeks were second best for practically the whole of the 40 minutes.

The game took place in neutral Lithuania, forming part of one of the two qualifying groups, a novel tournament that leads to the Euroleague group stage.

This leaves Panathinaikos and Olympiakos as Greece’s sole representatives to the continent’s top club competition.

PAOK will now continue in the second-tier Eurocup.
