Panathinaikos snatches last-minute draw

Olympiakos stretched its lead over Panathinaikos to six points atop the Super League table, albeit having played two more matches, after its victory against Atromitos and the Greens? draw at Panetolikos.

Ivan Marcano scored the only goal in the Reds’ 1-0 win at home over a dogged Atromitos in a below-par performance by the hosts, who were rather lucky to collect all three points on the night.

Panathinaikos was also disappointing and came mighty close to its second loss of the season. Henri Camara gave Panetolikos the lead at Agrinio just after the hour mark, while Toche left it really late, equalizing for the Greens in the fourth minute of time added on.

Panathinaikos suffered more damage as its central defender Jean-Alain Boumsong will likely to miss the next month’s action after breaking a toe.

PAOK fans bid farewell to departing Pablo Contreras and Adelino Vieirinha in an emotional moment before celebrating their club’s 3-1 home win over lowly Levadiakos, thanks to two goals by Stefanos Athanasiadis and one by Vladan Ivic. Stefano Napoleoni pulled one back for Levadiakos.

Xanthi came from behind to beat Ergotelis 2-1 on Crete, with striker Marko Markovski scoring twice to take his tally this season to eight goals. Nikos Katsikokeris had given Ergotelis a short-lived lead.

Finally, struggling Kerkyra scored a precious home win over Aris with a 1-0 score. New signing Juan Martin scored for the Corfu side.
