Kolossos still up there with the big boys
Kolossos kept up with fellow leaders Panathinaikos and Olympiakos by beating the season’s other surprise package, AGO Rethymnou, on January 4 as the 11th round of games produced some highly entertaining encounters.
The Rhodes team needed overtime to beat AGOR 93-90 and take its record so far to nine wins out of 10 games.
Olympiakos, which scored an important 80-69 win at Panionios on the same day, and Panathinaikos, victor over Peristeri a day later with a 104-69 score, have the same record as Kolossos.
Panathinaikos was happy to welcome back forward Stratos Perperoglou after a seven-month layoff.
KAOD and Ikaros scored very important wins in their fight to avoid the drop, for which Maroussi is increasingly the favorite.
KAO Dramas thrashed PAOK 93-72 after an impressive performance at home for its fourth win of the season. Ikaros came from behind to down Ilisiakos 75-69 at Glyfada.
Maroussi suffered its 10th loss in as many games at Aris, although it led for a significant part of the game at Thessaloniki. Eventually Aris came out with a 79-71 victory.
