PAOK beats AEK 2-0 to go third
PAOK leapfrogged over AEK in the Super League after beating the Athens side 2-0 in the capital on Sunday night, while Panathinaikos and Olympiakos secured easy wins over lesser opposition during the weekend.
Panathinaikos retained its five-point lead at the top of the table by beating lowly Doxa Dramas 1-0 away thanks to a Toche goal in the 58th minute.
On Saturday, second-placed Olympiakos had seen off nine-man Ergotelis 3-0 through goals by Marko Pantelic, Olof Mellberg and Yiannis Fetfatzidis.
PAOK climbed up to the third spot courtesy of goals by Giorgos Georgiadis and Stefanos Athanasiadis, though AEK struck the woodwork twice.
OFI Crete beat Xanthi 1-0 at home on Saturday to share the fifth spot with the Thrace club, as Atromitos slumped to seventh after losing to Asteras Tripolis 1-0 at home on Sunday.
In other games, Aris downed Levadiakos 2-1 through a Nery Castillo, Panionios beat Kerkyra 2-0 and PAS Giannina defeated Panetolikos 1-0.
