Olympiakos conquers Efes in Istanbul

Olympiakos scored a precious 67-65 win after a tough game at Anadolu Efes on Wednesday to edge closer to a spot in the Euroleague quarterfinals.

The Reds did it the hard way in Turkey as they repeatedly blew significant leads of up to 10 points, allowing the Turks back into the game, yet they still managed to have the last laugh.

The Istanbul team came from 65-57 down to equalize 16 seconds from the end, but conceded a foul that Costas Sloukas made the most of.

His only two points in the game gifted coach Dusan Ivkovic?s team its second win in four games in the top 16 of the competition.

Giorgos Printezis and Costas Papanikolaou scored 16 points each for Olympiakos.

In the Eurocup on Tuesday, Aris suffered a heavy 79-52 loss at Villeurbanne.
