Loeb takes lead in Acropolis Rally

Multiple world champion Sebastien Loeb was out in front after the opening nine special stages in the Acropolis Rally in Greece on Friday.

Driving a Citroen, Loeb took over the race lead after the fourth stage and led the two Ford drivers — Jari-Matti Latvala and Petter Solberg — by 6.5 seconds and 17.7 seconds respectively.

Loeb’s teammate Mikko Hirvonen, delayed by a puncture in stage eight, was in fourth, 50 seconds off the pace.

The Acropolis concludes on Sunday.
