Stergiou clears bar to Euro high jump final

Greek high jump champion Tonia Stergiou qualified for the final of the European Championship in Helsinki on Wednesday after clearing 1.87 meters to become the last to make the cut.

Greece will also have three athletes in the women?s triple jump final after Voula Papachristou, Athanasia Perra and Niki Panetta made the grade.

The 42-year-old javelin thrower Savva Lika also qualified for her event?s final, on her birthday as well.
