OFI barred from competing in Super League

As things stand, OFI Crete will not be able to take part in this year?s soccer Super League season after the Professional Sports Committee rejected its application.

The Cretan club failed to provide a letter of guarantee and a certificate proving it is up to date with its tax payments.

The decision will be referred to the Super League?s disciplinary committee to decide whether OFI can play in this year?s championship.

Another seven teams, including giants Panathinaikos and AEK, were facing exclusion but the committee approved their applications.

Panathinaikos and Aris were given until September 30 to submit their letter of guarantees.
