Atromitos snatches deserved point from PAO

Panathinaikos continued its streak of poor performances drawing 1-1 at Livadia with Atromitos on Monday evening to fare no better than the 13th spot of the table after the first four rounds of Super League games.

Atromitos came from 1-0 down to snatch a point that has kept it at the fifth spot of the table, following a creditable performance.

The Peristeri side had three times as many goal efforts as Panathinaikos, 12 against four, as the Greens lacked the spark in midfield and were virtually absent from the Atromitos box.

It is therefore no wonder the only goal for Panathinaikos came from a penalty, which Bruno Fornaroli earned in the 38th minute and Toche converted two minutes later for his first goal of the season.

Atromitos fought hard to equalize in the second half and deserved Matias Iglesias’s goal that came from a Tomas Belic cross from the right after he earned the ball from a careless Zeca in the 76th minute.

In its last five games in league and Europe Panathinaikos is winless, having three draws and two defeats.

The game took place at the town of Livadia due to a pop concert at Panathinaikos?s home Olympic Stadium.
