Reds and Greens win ahead of cup final

Olympiakos edged closer to clinching the top spot of the league’s regular season by beating visiting Ikaros Kallitheas, while Panathinaikos and Panionios remained tied in second two points adrift.

Ikaros posed no real threat to Olympiakos at the Peace and Friendship Stadium on Thursday and predictably succumbed with an 85-63 final score.

Two days after losing to Olympiakos, Panathinaikos bounced back to thrash host AGO Rethymnou 85-58 on Wednesday in Crete, as the Reds and the Greens prepare to meet once again on Sunday in the Cup Final.

Panionios keeps flying high after seeing Enosi Kavalas off 88-71 at home. PAOK, one point behind, braved a decent challenge by KAO Dramas to win 77-66 on the debut of Nenad Markovic on the KAOD bench.

In other midweek results, Apollon defeated Peristeri 86-76 in Patra, Kolossos Rhodes downed Panelefsiniakos 68-60 away and Aris edged out Ilisiakos 64-62 at Zografou in a thrilling encounter.
