Gold for Nikolaidou at lightweight sculls

Katerina Nikolaidou extended the successful streak of Greek rowing in the European Championships winning the gold medal in Spain on Sunday.

The Greek champion finished first at the lightweight single sculls final in Seville.

The rower from Katerini clocked 8 minutes and 32.92 seconds. She was second after the first 1,500 meters of the final and managed to edge ahead in the last quarter of the race.
