Kerkyra, Niki Volou promoted to the Super League

The end of the second-division playoffs on Sunday saw Kerkyra return to the Super League after just one season in the Football League, along with Niki Volou that will play in the Super League for the first time in its history.

The team to finish third in the round-robin process, that featured eight teams and 14 rounds, was Olympiakos Volou. In the decider for the third place the Volos team grabbed an away draw (0-0) at Hania on Sunday.

As a result it will be Olympiakos Volou that will contest the play-off for the last place left open in next season’s Super League, facing Xanthi.

The play-off between Xanthi and Olympiakos Volou will take place in the next few days although the date has not yet been arranged. It will likely be staged in Thessaloniki.
