Panathinaikos makes it 13 out of 13 in Basket League

Panathinaikos overcame a home scare by Kifissia on Monday to complete the first half of the regular season with a perfect 13 out of 13, as it sits pretty atop the Basket League table, one point ahead of Olympiakos. Yet the weekend’s biggest win belongs to Kolossos, that saw Aris off.

The Greens trailed their visitor for the entire first half but managed to beat Kifissia 73-67 in the end, although the worrying signs are there for coach Aleksandar Djordjevic.

Olympiakos had an easy ride at Rethymno beating the local team 85-70 and is hoping it can climb to the top spot by beating Panathinaikos at home in two weeks’ time.

AEK struggled to beat host Arkadikos 78-74 at Tripoli, but the result on Rhodes, where local Kolossos defeated Aris 76-70 allowed AEK to rise to third at the table, two points behind Olympiakos.

PAOK strolled to a 71-60 win over depleted Kavala, Lavrio scored a precious 81-72 victory over Korivos Amaliadas and Apollon Patras entered the top eight (that lead to the playoffs) with an 83-77 home triumph over Trikala.
