Test events are a success

Three Olympic test events finished yesterday and Games organizers and athletes proclaimed them a success. In field hockey, Spain won the men’s tournament, defeating Britain 2-1. In the women’s tournament, South Africa defeated Spain 1-0. In the badminton event, in Goudi, the South Koreans dominated. In the men’s singles, Huyn Il Lee defeated compatriot Seung Mo Shon 3-1. In the women’s singles, Yun Jae Jun defeated the UK’s Tracey Hallam 2-0 and in the doubles, the South Korean duo of Yu Mi Hwang and Hyo Jung Lee won the final as their British rivals Donna Kellogg and Natalie Munt forfeited the game through injury. The men’s doubles was a Danish affair, with Thomas Laybourn and Peter Steffensen defeating Michael Lamp and Lars Paske 2-0. The Peace and Friendship arena hosted the Greek Women’s Volleyball Cup. Vrilissia beat Panellinios 3-1.
