The Hellenic Football Federation…

The Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) yesterday took referee Yiannis Spyropoulos (c) and linesman Yiannis Fotiou (r) off the rolls of Greek referees indefinitely, following their disastrous performance in Wednesday’s Cup match between Olympiakos and Panionios. Olympiakos won, 1-0, with a dubious penalty awarded by Spyropoulos. Later, Fotiou failed to see a tough foul by an Olympiakos player, a red-card offense. The victim of the foul was sent off instead, for cursing at Fotiou.
