New boys Kymi upset PAOK in Basket League

Promoted Kymi scored its biggest win ever downing Champions League challenger PAOK to boost its chances to stay up in its first ever season in the top flight.

The Evia team, that plays its home games in Halkida, came from behind to beat the Thessaloniki giant 93-82 on Saturday.

Leader Olympiakos outclassed host Trikala on Monday to win 81-60 with Yiannis Athinaiou as its leading figure. The Reds have a 100 percent record so far after nine games.

Panathinaikos and AEK remained tied in second, one point behind Olympiakos ahead of their clash at the Olympic Sports Hall next Sunday night. The Greens outplayed Lavrio to win 84-60 away on Monday, while AEK saw off visiting Korivos Amaliadas 89-75 on Saturday.

Aris had to wait for nearly two months to record a home win in the league, and beat Kolossos emphatically with an 84-60 score.

Rethymno extended its perfect record at home, but needed overtime to do that against Promitheas Patras. Eventually the Cretan Kings won 104-97, while the other Patra team, Apollon downed Doxa Lefkadas 74-65.
