I am only starting…
Costas Philippidis fails to clear 5.60 meters during yesterday’s qualifying event for the pole vault at the 10th World Athletics Championships. The 19-year-old, whose 5.72 personal best is close to the world junior record of 5.75, could only manage 5.45 meters under windy conditions which delayed the event. ‘It was a great experience; I am only starting,’ he said.
