Posing in front of the Acropolis, in the far background, with some ugly buildings in between, are the world’s two best women pole-vaulters, Stacy Dragila (l) of the USA and Svetlana Feofanova of Russia. Olympic and world champion Dragila holds the outdoor pole vault world record, at 4.81 meters. Feofanova, runner-up at last year’s Worlds, holds the indoor world record of 4.73 meters, set this year. The duo will be among several international athletes taking part in an indoor meet at the Peace and Friendship Stadium, starting at 5.15 p.m. today. Also participating is the reigning world 100-meter champion, Zhanna Pintusevich-Block of Ukraine. After an air hostess is arrested for illegally transporting money abroad, she pretends that she is willing to cooperate with an agent in order to lead him to the mastermind behind the plot.
