Aris loses ULEB Cup’s first-leg semi, 74-71

Aris basketball club went down 74-71 to Serbia and Montenegro’s Hemofarm in a ULEB Cup first-leg semifinal played late last night. To reach the final of the European basketball club-level competition, Aris will need to win by at least four points in next Tuesday’s return leg at home. In the other semifinal, Dynamo Moscow established a major advantage by beating Hapoel Jerusalem 84-83 in Israel. The Russian club was led by Greek stars Lazaros Papadopoulos and Antonis Fotsis, who scored 25 and 21 points respectively. Moscow’s return leg is also scheduled for next Tuesday.
