Battle for second spot to be decided in the final round

Nikos Dimitropoulos, Alban Bushi and Ivan Rusev each scored a goal in the first 17 minutes to help struggling Levadiakos beat Olympiakos 3-2 in a first-division game Sunday. Silvio Maric and Michalis Konstantinou scored for Olympiakos. Olympiakos’s sixth loss of the season meant little, however, as the Piraeus squad clinched the title for the second straight season in the previous round. With one round left in the 30-game league, Olympiakos has 69 points, three ahead of AEK Athens. With a lone goal by Vassilis Lakis, AEK beat Apollon Kalamaria 1-0 to retain second place, leading to the qualification rounds of the Champions League. Panathinaikos, which trounced Aegaleo 4-0, is in third place with 64 points. Dimitris Papadopoulos struck twice, Fanis Gekas added another, while Aegaleo defender Yiannis Zapropoulos scored an own goal. Also Sunday, it was: Panionios 3, Iraklis 0; Atromitos 2, Kallithea 1; Ionikos 1, Larissa 1; Xanthi 2, Akratitos 0, and OFI 2, PAOK 1. (AP)
