More success for water polo girls
The Glyfada women’s water polo team won a silver medal in the LEN Trophy, Europe’s second-most significant club-level competition, after ending its campaign with two wins and a loss in final-stage group play in Athens. Glyfada, a domestic powerhouse with previous LEN trophy success – two gold medals, two silver, and a bronze – conceded its sole defeat against the tournament’s eventual champion, Honved. The Hungarians won all three of their games to take the title. Competing as a final-four qualifier in Europe’s leading women’s club-level event, the Champions Cup, Athens club Vouliagmeni lost all three games to end last.
