AEK presents its new coach
AEK’s new coach Lorenzo Serra Ferrer, hired by the Athens team from Spanish club Real Betis on a two-year contract earlier this month, said yesterday he wanted to instill a «winning mentality» into his new team. The 53-year-old Spaniard, whose contract with his previous club was not renewed after it expired, refrained from offering details about any possible transfer moves by the club. But he did say he was an avid supporter of attacking soccer. AEK, which finished second in last season’s Greek first division, must survive a Champions League qualifier this summer for a place in one of the prestigious European club-level competition’s groups.
