Panathinaikos lent their forward Fanis Gekas (left) to Germany’s first-division Bochum, the German soccer club announced yesterday. Gekas, the Greek league’s top scorer in the 2004-2005 season, lost his place in Panathinaikos’s lineup with the acquisition of Dimitris Salpiggidis from PAOK. Bochum has the option, at the end of the lease, to offer a three-year contract to Gekas.
