Castillo considered for national squad
Talented Olympiakos forward Nery Castillo may acquire Greek citizenship, making him eligible to play with Greece’s national soccer team. «We will look into the matter after Saturday’s (Euro 2008 qualifier against Moldova). I want to speak with the team coach and be completely informed about legislation and (European soccer federation) regulations on the subject,» Vassilis Gagatsis, president of Greece’s soccer federation EPO, told reporters yesterday. The Uruguayan-born Castillo, 22, in his sixth season with Olympiakos, is recognized as a brilliant and creative player. He has also had disciplinary problems which have led to clashes with coaches and teammates.
