Panathinaikos up against its ex-coach
Panathinaikos was drawn in Group G of the UEFA Cup’s group stage yesterday with Paris Saint-Germain, Rapid Bucharest, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Mlada Boleslav. Hapoel is led by Itzhak Shum, the Israeli coach who took Panathinaikos to a league-and-cup double two seasons ago but was then forced to resign. The Greek team opens its group stage campaign on October 19 against Hapoel in Athens, then plays Mlada Boleslav, away, on November 2, hosts Rapid Bucharest on November 30, and meets Paris Saint-Germain on December 13.
