PAOK continues impressive form
PAOK’s thrilling 101-99 victory over the league’s second-placed Aris, the Thessaloniki club’s crosstown rival, came as the latest indicator that the host has appeared to overcome its poor start to the season. The weekend victory, before 8,000 jubilant home fans, lifted PAOK to fifth place, one point behind Panionios, an 87-57 loser against frontrunner and defending champion Panathinaikos. «The crowd’s support was amazing. I think they deserve a large share of the credit for this victory,» said PAOK guard Yiannis Kalabokis. In the other games of round 10, it was: Panellinios-Makedonikos, 68-62; Olympiakos-AEK, 74-70; Apollon Patras-Maroussi, 58-55; Larissa-Olympia Larissa, 78-90; Aegaleo-Olympiada Patras, 60-80.
