No harm from loss in Spain

Panathinaikos reached the Euroleague’s quarterfinals despite losing 87-66 to host Barcelona last night. The Greek and Spanish clubs played having assured the top and second places respectively in the Top 16’s Group F for quarterfinal spots. It was Panathinaikos’s only Top 16 loss. Aris, eliminated before its game last night, beat Group G winner Unicaja 83-65 to exit with a solitary Top 16 win. Tonight, Olympiakos, second in Group E with a 2-3 record, hosts last-placed DKV Joventut, needing a victory for the second spot and a quarterfinal berth.
