A worker carries a pile of broken plastic chairs out of Thessaloniki’s Kaftantzogleio Stadium yesterday. Iraklis fans smashed thousands of chairs during and after Wednesday’s Cup semi-final against Olympiakos, which their team lost 3-0. Iraklis President Evangelos Mytilineos yesterday resigned his post as vice president of the Association of Professional Football clubs (EPAE). Kaftantzogleio, the second-largest stadium in Greece with a capacity of nearly 50,000, will host qualifying soccer matches during the 2004 Olympic Games.
