Security boosted for title’s deciding game

Police authorities are planning strict security measures for tomorrow’s deciding game in the best-of-five basketball league final series between defending champion Panathinaikos and Olympiakos. The meeting between the arch rivals, locked at two wins each, has raised police concern following a clash earlier this year on the sidelines of a women’s volleyball game involving the two clubs, in which one fan was killed. Large sections in the stands at the OAKA stadium will remain empty to keep rival fans apart. Just over 9,000 tickets have been issued for the 17,000-capacity arena. As host, Panathinaikos was given the lion’s share (70 percent) of tickets. Tonight, Aris hosts Panionios in a deciding game for third place and a Euroleague berth.
