Four more vie for UEFA Cup groups

Four more Greek clubs do battle for UEFA Cup group places tonight following Panathinaikos’s comfortable 5-1 aggregate triumph over Artmedia Bratislava on Tuesday. Panionios hosts French team Sochaux following an impressive 2-0 away win; AEK defends a 3-0 lead at Salzburg; Aris faces Zaragoza in Spain with a fragile 1-0 advantage, and Larissa is hosted by English club Blackburn following a 2-0 win at home. These four victories, as well as Panathinaikos’s 2-1 first-leg win, away, provided an impressive clean sweep for the country’s UEFA Cup contestants in the first leg. The draw to determine the competition’s groups is scheduled for next Tuesday.
