Latest victory makes it into the record books
Panathinaikos continued its winning run in the Euroleague’s first stage of group play with a 123-83 away win over French basketball champions Chorale Roanne in a fifth-round Group C game late Wednesday night. The European champion broke its own record for most points scored in an away Euroleague game, while also equaling Maccabi’s record for most points scored in a Euroleague game. The Israeli side had defeated Scavolini 123-73 late in 2004. Andrija Zizic, who registered a perfect 10-from-10 record for two-point shots, many of these from assists, led the scoring for Panathinaikos with 26 points. «We made a lot of mistakes in the first 10 minutes but then improved and played very good defense,» said Panathinaikos coach Zelimir Obradovic.
