Belluschi signs deal with Olympiakos
Olympiakos has signed Argentine international attacking midfielder Fernando Belluschi on a four-and-a-half-year deal, the Piraeus club announced yesterday. No details of the fee to be paid to his previous club River Plate have been made public but local media reports said it could reach 6.5 million euros. Belluschi, who has represented Argentina twice, is not expected to play in the league leader’s clash this weekend against archrival and challenger Panathinaikos. The Argentine’s arrival is likely to lead to the departure of compatriot Rodrigo Archubi, who is believed to be preparing for a move to River Plate. Italian media are reporting that a loan deal has been reached between Olympiakos and Juventus for another Argentine, Sergio Almiron, who joined the Italian club for 9 million euros last June but has only played three times.
