Aris still in contest with triumph at Fenerbahce
Aris hung on to its slender hopes for a place in the Euroleague quarterfinals with a 60-59 win at Fenerbahce. It was the Thessaloniki team’s second win in Turkey this season and the first after four Round of 16 Group E games. Defending champion Panathinaikos, with a 1-2 record in Group D, hosts Turk club Efes Pilsen tonight needing victory to improve its hopes of reaching the quarterfinals. Besides its two Group D Euroleague defeats, Pana-thinaikos suffered defeats in its last two domestic league games. «None of us will claim that Panathinaikos has played good basketball in recent games, but we have been through this before and know how to deal with it,» said Panathinaikos guard Nikos Hatzivrettas. Also tonight, Olympiakos is hosted by Maccabi in Group F.
