Iraklis team coach agrees to stay on

Iraklis have reached a verbal agreement with Spaniard Angel Pedraza Lamilla to continue as the soccer club’s coach. Reports say the coach’s agent Manel Ferrer held talks with Iraklis president Antonis Remos on Monday, during which an agreement was reached but no details were released. Pedraza, a former player with Barcelona, joined Iraklis in December on a short-term contract with the aim of keeping the Thessaloniki team in the Super League. After a subdued start, the team’s form has improved and Iraklis is now in 11th place, five points above the relegation zone with two rounds remaining. Pedraza has shown faith in some of the club’s younger players. Two of these rising stars, Dimitris Yiantsis and Angelos Komvolodis, scored in Iraklis’s 2-2 draw at Aris last Sunday. Prior to joining Iraklis, Pedraza, 45, was coach of Villareal’s B team.
