Lomana LuaLua shipping out of port?

Olympiakos’s Congolese striker Lomana LuaLua may have played his last games with the Greek champions after the player was left out of the 23-man squad that has flown to Austria for pre-season training. LuaLua turned up for the first day of training in Athens on Thursday but was not included in the squad that flew abroad. Although the player is recovering from an appendix operation performed a few weeks ago, a number of reports suggest that this omission signals the end of the former Newcastle and Ports-mouth striker’s career at the Piraeus club. After a bright start, LuaLua ran into a number of disciplinary problems and is thought to be on the list of players set to leave this summer. The Reds’ new manager, Ernesto Valverde, is reported to be eyeing Nigerian international Uche Ikechukwu of Spain’s top-division side Getafe as a replacement. Meanwhile Red Star Belgrade made an offer to Olympiakos for the return to Serbia of 35-year-old center forward Darko Kovacevic, but it was turned down by Olympiakos. The Piraeus club have already parted ways with another of their strikers, Cypriot Michalis Constantinou.
