Olympiakos signs Sebastian Leto, Dudu

Within just 24 hours, champion soccer club Olympiakos has completed the transfer of two players. Brazilian Dudu Cearense and Argentinean Sebastian Leto arrived in Athens and sealed their move to the Reds, giving a boost to the coach and the fans who saw time passing by without the team receiving some much-needed reinforcement. Leto, the 21-year-old Liverpool midfielder, landed at Athens Airport on Monday night and yesterday underwent medical tests before signing a two-year contract on loan from the Premiership club. Speaking a few minutes after his arrival, Leto said: «Olympiakos is a challenge for me. I know I will be here for two years. I had two weeks of pre-season training with Liverpool and I believe I will be ready to do whatever I have to.» Dudu arrived yesterday afternoon and will undergo a medical this morning prior to signing a three-year contract. After his arrival he added: «I cannot wait to get inside the Karaiskaki Stadium and get to know the club’s fans. I have heard so much about them and I want to see them with my own eyes.» He also stated that it was the transfer of Brazil captain Gilberto Silva to local rival Panathinaikos that convinced him to come to Greece. «To be honest, it was Gilberto Silva who persuaded me to accept Olympiakos’s offer. He told me he has had a pleasant surprise in Greece and he suggested that I come, too.» Olympiakos is still chasing Brazilian striker Diogo from Portuguesa in Brazil and his countryman Brandao from Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine. Tonight Olympiakos will play a friendly match with Racing Santander of Spain in Piraeus.
